Pontiac - Brand is closed
The Pontiac brand has become famous
only through television and film. Now the company is to be closed by
the bankruptcy of General Motors.
Pontiac is a brand owned by
General Motors, and has also suffered from the crisis, like many other
companies of the Group. In Germany, it took until recently Opel, which
is here looking for a new investor. At Pontiac, the bankruptcy of
General Motors could spell the end. Everybody knows more than the
Pontiac faithful car Kitt. With technical innovations and a very
dynamic design Kitt could impress not only the Knight Rider, but many
generations. But the career of David Hasselhoff came to an end, as now,
the career of Pontiac. General Motors has planned to set the mark at
least the next year. Thus ends the legend of the sports car. Although
we have seen in Germany, hardly a Pontiac on the streets, are also a
few fans shed tears. General Motors has not said anything yet about
whether there may be an investor for the brand. To many Pontiac fans,
this would obviously be the better option. This could be difficult,
because at the moment is put on the car market, more emphasis on saving
and environmentally friendly cars. The Pontiac has always been a very
sporty and high-consumption model.
